My internship at Toshiba America Electronic Component (TAEC) was a very positive and rewarding experience. The hands-on training in the dynamic and fast-paced hard disk drive industry gave me planning, decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills that a classroom simply can’t provide. At TAEC I got a chance to interact with some of the most talented people in their fields, and working here I always felt appreciated, valued, and trusted. Despite the difference in our years of experience, the team members were always genuinely humble and willing to help me with any questions. From the onset, I felt like I was part of the team and was regularly involved in meetings. It was an amazing to experience first-hand the effort put in by every team member to reach a common goal. My time there flew by, and throughout the program, I felt properly mentored and provided with enough challenges.
The team and family culture extended to outside of work. I will leave TAEC with many fond memories of our lunch breaks. Not only was our lunch time used to provide candid career guidance, but it also cultivated my passion for multicultural cuisines. Alongside a great learning experience and a head start on my professional career, I am very grateful for the warm and meaningful connections I have made during the brief time at Toshiba.
It was an incredible 10 weeks for me, and armed with the experience and newfound skills, I am better positioned for my next endeavor. I am graduating in December with my Masters is Science in Business Analytics from University of California, Riverside, and now, I can’t wait to start my career in the business analyst field.
