: All questions regarding CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs,
DVD-RAMs or Hard Drives installed in Toshiba computers are handled through
the Computer Systems Division Technical Support Department. Online support
is available at the Computer

Can you provide specifications
for Toshiba DVD or Hard disk drives?

I didn't receive
a User's manual with my drive?
: You can download current product user
manuals from the Online
User Guides section of the Documentation area on this web site. Older

Is it possible to
install my 2.5" Toshiba Hard Drive into my desktop or tower system?
: Yes, by using a HDD mounting kit,
you can install a Toshiba 2.5" drive into your desktop or tower system. Contact
your local computer supplier for kit availability.
Should my 2.5" Hard
Drive be configured as a Master Drive or Slave Drive?
: If you are using a single drive configuration,
set jumpers to Master. If you are using a two drive configuration, you can
set the drive as either the Master or Slave, depending on what the other
drive is set at. In most situations, Toshiba's Hard Drives are shipped with
no jumper present, making it a master drive.
My system is not
able to recognize all available capacity on my Hard Disk Drive. What do I need
to do to utilize the complete hard drive?
: There are some systems that are unable
to recognize the new larger Hard Drives on the market. 3rd party software
is available that breaks the "capacity barrier". A suggestion is Disk
Manager DiskGo by Ontrack. Check with your local computer/software supplier
for availability or contact the software manufacturer.
Do I need to partition
my Toshiba advanced format hard drive.
: Under certain circumstances you may
need to partition your drive for optimal performance. Please go to our advanced

What is the warranty
on Toshiba's drives?
: See the Limited
Warranty page for product warranty information. For warranty service
the drive should be returned directly to the authorized dealer from which
it was purchased or device manufacturer in which the drive was installed.
